Business Partners
One of the most important roles Midlands Education and Business Alliance plays is connecting business with education. MEBA coordinates seven alliances that provide vehicles for business partners to be actively and meaningfully engaged in education. Opportunities abound for business to train educators on career opportunities in the Midlands through activities such as speaking engagements, educator field studies and on-site job shadowing.
Business partners can directly assist students in career exploration by offering extended learning opportunities. Extended learning opportunities give students a chance to experience firsthand the skills needed in a selected career. Internships and shadowing experiences are two of the most popular forms of extended learning opportunities.
Many parents are learning information to assist their children through an employer-sponsored program, Your Child Is Job #1. Your Child Is Job #1 seminars are conducted by MEBA onsite. The seminars provide parents with up-to-date information on career planning and development.
MEBA offers many activities for business partners to improve the educational opportunities for Midlands students to enhance the quality of life and economic development of our community.
