Midlands Education and Business Alliance connects students, parents, educators and employers to education and career opportunities in the Midlands through programs and partnerships of business, school, college, faith, and other community leaders. MEBA fosters this community collaboration to promote economic development and enhance the quality of life in the Midlands by encouraging all young people to make a successful transition to adulthood by acquiring the education and skills needed to pursue their desired career goals. MEBA responds to education concerns in the community.
MEBA plays a very unique role in that the organization works across boundaries, building relationships between unlikely allies who ultimately all have the same goal: students who graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue gainful employment. By bringing together the nine school districts, higher education, business and industry, parents and community partners in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties, MEBA has the ability to launch special initiatives such as Middle College High School and Clusters of Study. MEBA firmly believes that the community working together can achieve more than any of its individual parts working alone.
