Bank of AmericaMidlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA) is pleased to announce a $10,000 donation from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to help support A Framework for Understanding Poverty training for educators throughout the Midlands. Based on the national model by Ruby K. Payne, the training provides tips, strategies and resources for working with children and parents of poverty.

“Bank of America is pleased to continue its support of MEBA and the facilitation of A Framework for Understanding Poverty training,” said Kim Wilkerson, South Carolina president for Bank of America.  “We believe this contribution will not only further MEBA’s mission of connecting education and business, but will also provide educators with the necessary tools to help promote self-sufficiency among students.”

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation also awarded a grant to Midlands Middle College to provide operating support.  Funding helped support tuition costs and technological needs of the classroom.
