MEBA Partners with USC to Host Geography Educator Field Study

Dec 15, 2010

Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA) partnered with the University of South Carolina to host a Geography Educator Field Study on December 15, 2010. Midlands career specialists, guidance professionals and educators attended the event, which was held at the University of South Carolina’s main campus in Columbia. Dr. Jerry Mitchell, director of the SC Geography Alliance, helped coordinate the event and served as a presenter. Attendees learned how geography fits into the 16 career clusters through speaker presentations and demonstrations.

MEBA hosts several educator field studies each year to give teachers, guidance personnel, career specialists and administrators the opportunity to learn about specific career clusters. Educators visit area businesses, meet with industry professionals, participate in hands-on activities and receive valuable resources and information to share with interested students. It’s just one way MEBA works to strengthen the connection between education and business. For more information about MEBA’s educator field studies, click here.
