MEBA's Architecture & Construction Field Study
Mar 11, 2011
Approximately 40 Midlands educators participated in an Architecture & Construction Educator Field Study, hosted by the Architecture & Construction Alliance of the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA). Held in conjunction with the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia's 45th Annual Carolina Classic Home & Garden Show, the field study took place on March 11, 2011 at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. As part of the field study, participating educators toured Home & Garden Show exhibits to learn about the many aspects of the residential and commercial construction industry, including the use of technology, changes and future expectations, and the advanced math and science skills required for a career in the industry. Several local industry representatives served as presenters for the field study including Susan Wilson with Palmetto Utility Protection Services, Ted Chalgren with Cox & Dinkins, Ralph Heath with Shaw Group, and Cory Lorick with the C-Core Program.
