Morgan Cox of Airport High School was recognized as one of the Palmetto State's 2011 Technology Champions at the Education and Business Summit held on June 26, 2011, in Greenville. Cox was among 12 high school graduates selected from a pool of nominations received from high schools and career and technology centers in each of the state's 12 EEDA regions. Regional selection was based upon standardized factors including GPA, attendance, awards and honors, leadership in school, and service to the community. To qualify for this honor each nominee had to be a graduating senior in a career and technology education completer program.
The Technology Champions recognition is made possible through a partnership among the State Department of Education Office of Career and Technology Education, South Carolina Army National Guard, South Carolina Association for Career and Technology Education, and South Carolina’s Regional Career Specialists.
