MEBA to Host Teachers in the Workplace Summer Graduate Course

Who: Midlands educators try out new careers at local businesses and industries as part of MEBA’s Teachers in the Workplace summer graduate course.

What: Participating elementary, middle and high school educators will spend the week of June 9 – 13, 2008, in a challenging position at a local business or industry to gain firsthand knowledge of the skills needed to be successful in fields ranging from healthcare to manufacturing to electrical engineering. The experience is designed to help educators show students the connection between classroom and career.

When: A photo and interview opportunity will be available Friday, June 13, 2008, at 11:30 a.m.

Where: SCANA’s Customer Contact Center
The Customer Contact Center is located off of the 12th Street Extension in Cayce. From downtown Columbia, take Blossom St. into West Columbia. Take a left on 12th St. (where Kripsy Crème is) and follow that for roughly two miles. At the intersection of Taylor Road, take a left into the SCANA complex. A SCANA representative will meet you at the guard gate.
