Westberry Named SC Regional Career Specialist of the Year
Stacey Westberry, professional development director and regional career specialist with the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA), was named SC Regional Career Specialist of the Year at the 2011 Education and Business Summit. Presenting the award to Westberry were Dr. Bob Couch, Director of Career and Technology Education, and Dr. Ray Davis, Education Associate, from the SC Department of Education.
Westberry has a master’s degree in education and is a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Master Trainer who has worked in the area of career development for the last 13 years. She taught the GCDF course in the Midlands for the past seven years and is also certified as an e-Learning instructor.
“Stacey brings an incredible value to the MEBA staff in her role as director of our professional development and as our regional career specialist,” says Dr. Kaye Shaw, MEBA’s executive director. “She has trained hundreds of Midlands’ educators and business partners as career development facilitators and also provides a wide range of other training opportunities for our districts’ career specialist. The MEBA staff is very proud of Stacey and congratulate her on this prestigious statewide award. It was well deserved!”
