MEDIA ADVISORY: Dr. Mick Zais, State Superintendent of Education, is scheduled to visit the Midlands Middle College tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25, 2011, to tour the school and talk with students about how the College has changed their lives.

Since being founded in 2005, Midlands Middle College has provided a second chance to more than 300 high school students at risk of dropping out by offering focused instruction, personalized career counseling and the extra encouragement they need to be successful. Midlands Middle College has a proven track record of success, with 97% of its students graduating from high school and going on to attend college, acquire professional certification, enter the military or workforce.

Midlands Middle College is a unique, three-county initiative established to help students who are academically capable, but at-risk of dropping out of high school. Coordinated by the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA) and located on the Airport Campus of Midlands Technical College, Midlands Middle College works with school districts to provide students with another option for academic excellence and encouragement to graduate from high school.
