Committees

Midlands Education and Business Alliance coordinates the activities of standing and ad hoc committees. The committees allow an opportunity for networking and idea sharing to promote collaboration between schools, districts, colleges, businesses and organizations in the Midlands.

Adults in Career Transition Task Force

Representatives from the adult education community, as well as community partners who are working to assist adults who are unemployed or underemployed to connect with careers, have formed a task force to share best practices and increase the information flow about training, resources andcareer opportunites.

Career Connections Committee

The Committee provides an opportunity for members to share ideas and best practices as well as learn how to increase the effectiveness of the career awareness programs in their school or district. Committee members are responsible for the dissemination of career awareness materials in their local areas as well as serving as a point of contact for each district. The committee is made up of district staff members in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties.

Career Specialist/Guidance Committee

The Committee is composed of counselors and career specialists from each of the nine school districts in the three counties as well as representatives from Midlands Technical College. Committee members are responsible for the dissemination of resource materials in their local areas as well as serving as a point of contact for each district.

Dropout Prevention Task Force

Representatives from the Midlands' school districts, community organizations focused on dropout prevention and local business partners will share programs, services and resources that will make positive changes to the graduation rate.
