Summer Reading

The warm, slow days of summer are almost here, and summer is a great time to encourage your student to take a fascinating and free vacation found between the covers of a good book. Not only will reading help maintain the academic momentum, but reading can also introduce your child to new friends and new places. This summer check out your local library, check out some books and check out these tips from Kay Barlow, MEBA’s Community and Parent Education Director, about why helping your child become a proficient reader is so important.
