On Tuesday, May 5th, everyone can be a philanthropist! Midlands Gives, the annual on-line giving challenge, is upon us once again. By donating a minimum of $20 to MEBA through Midlands Gives, you will be helping us compete with other local non-profits for matching dollars as well as $17,500 in additional prize money throughout the day. The challenge will begin at 12:00 a.m. and end at 11:59 p.m. for a full 24-hours of giving. A complete list of rules and frequently asked questions about the challenge can be found here.
Your contributions to MEBA on Tuesday, May 5th, will be used to fund two poverty training courses for public school educators. The program is anticipated to have 100 educators and will be offered in the fall of 2015 and the spring of 2016. Educators will learn techniques on how to maximize the learning potential of students in poverty by understanding the barriers to learning created by living in poverty.
A person’s probability of success depends greatly on education. With your help, we can assist educators in ensuring that every child in the Midlands has the chance to achieve his or her full potential, regardless of socioeconomic status. A win for MEBA is a win for our entire community!
Thank you in advance for your participation in helping make our community a better place to live, work and play!
